All of the products that Artefact builds are done so using a vertical manufacturing process in which we work closely with our suppliers to ensure no compromise is made in the process of creating our footwear. From our Italian leather and outsole partners to the actual factory floor in Portugal, our eyes are on the goods every step of the way.

Within this system, Artefact has continually emphasized both quality and craft, but we have also ensured our goods have as minimal an impact as possible on the environment as well. This means we source from a certified North Italy tannery where toxic chemicals are not used to dye our leathers. Each pair is hand made by fairly paid artisans in the countryside of Portugal only 30 minutes from the ocean. A healthy working environment and sustainable practices are not limited to our office in New York City.

OCEANA

This Summer, Artefact is proud to support Oceana, the largest international advocacy organization dedicated solely to marine conservation. Oceana is rebuilding abundant and biodiverse oceans by applying scence-based policies across the planet. Our oceans are home to most of the life on our planet and play a critical role in the world's natural systems, like regulating our climate and absorbing carbon dioxide.

With more than 200 legislative victories successfully suppressing overfishing, curbing habitat destruction, minimizing pollution, and stopping the hunting of threatened species like Orca Whales, Oceana's campaigns are delivering results across the globe.

ORCAFACT

This particular N°11 silhouette features a water blue and pearlescent white acrylic paint dripped across the toe box. The shoe is hand constructed in Portugal from black nappa leather and a white rubber sole both sourced from Italy. The shoe is finished with a full leather lining and gold foil accents.

The design is inspired by Artefact's support of the environment and passion for wildlife. In order to celebrate this release, Artefact will donate to Oceana to help in their efforts to protect and restore the oceans.

The N°11 Orcafact will release on August 30th at 12pm EST for a price of $195 exclusively on www.Artefact.nyc.
